We're paid less than everyone else around us and are worked harder than we have any right to be. She filed a harassment claim but it didn't go anywhere. I had a coworker who got food poisoning and came into work a few days later, still hardly able to talk and when she almost passed out on the sales floor she was bullied so badly by management that she cried. You get paid sick time but you aren't really able to take it because if you do you'l get harassed by management. There is no communication from managers to the rest of staff. People are hired and quit within a month. This is for Kohls Lynnwood, specifically.
Especially since people who have been working there for 5+ years were still getting the same pay as everyone else. I left because I wanted a higher pay (it was $12.50an hour).
They wanted me to stay even though I wasn't planning on staying. Near the end they gave zero information about who was staying and who wasn't. There are radios to ask for help but when I worked there weren't enough for everyone. Amazon returns were busy during the holidays. The cashiers were easy to operate and I liked the cashiers better as time went by faster. You just clean up the displays, refold clothes, and clean out the fitting rooms. You check in and either a manager tells you what to do or you just go to your assigned section and tidy up. Overall, it was a pretty slow job if you're on the floor. The coworkers were all nice and the ones closer to my age were super friendly, which was nice. Training wasn't super clear and the communication wasn't the best so I just did was I assumed what right until told otherwise. This was difficult as I would be put into different areas each days and I wasn't able to help customers. I never got a tour and had to learn where everything was myself. The management wasn't the best, but I guess this was due the fact that there were 6-7 managers.
